1. Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and username. If you sign in with Google we also receive your Google account name and profile picture. We store jokes, ratings, comments, and feedback you submit.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate Babaloba: to authenticate you, display your content, calculate scores and streaks, and send transactional emails such as email-verification links. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Google Sign-In

If you use Google Sign-In, authentication is handled by Google Identity Services. We receive only the information Google passes in the identity token (name, email, and profile picture). We do not have access to your Google account password or any other Google data.

4. Cookies and Storage

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking cookies are set. A service worker may cache static assets in your browser to support offline access; this cache contains no personal data.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us via the contact form.

6. Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes (Werkzeug PBKDF2). All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

Babaloba is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
